Talent Development Programme (TDP)

Overview

Hibiscus Coast AFC is proud to be part of a select group of clubs with a New Zealand Football Accredited Talent Development Programme (TDP).

In 2026, our programme will step into the NRFL Youth Premiership – the top division in Auckland and recognised as the highest level of youth football in New Zealand.

Our TDP players train three nights a week with qualified, experienced coaches who deliver a player-centred curriculum. Many graduates have already progressed into:

  • Hibiscus Coast AFC First Teams

  • Auckland FC Development Centres / NZF Age Group Centres

  • Opportunities overseas

Programme Aims

The TDP is designed to develop the whole person – not just the footballer.

We aim to:

  • Provide a supportive, safe, and enjoyable environment to learn and play football

  • Deliver a holistic football education from ages 13–17, focusing on character, lifestyle, problem-solving, and teamwork

  • Follow a clear football philosophy, adapted to each age group, balancing skill development with enjoyment and challenge

  • Emphasise the development of game-breaking players with an individual focus within competitive team settings

  • Specialise in 1v1 outplay skills – breaking down defensive lines and winning individual duels

  • Offer access to educational workshops on nutrition, injury prevention, performance, and player pathways
